Lecture | Tessa Giblin: On the Un-Muting of Art

, 6pm

TGlecture

Talbot Rice Gallery Director, Tessa Giblin, will talk about a series of exhibitions that are activated within the national conversation, focussing on ‘Tremble Tremble’, commissioned for the Irish Pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2017, with artist Jesse Jones. Since working on this project, Giblin has developed a curatorial direction for Talbot Rice Gallery of the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art that actively seeks to work into the national conversation – be that art in the age of Brexit; raising the volume of female self-empowerment in the wake of the 8th amendment referendum in Ireland; or the role of contemporary art in a post-pandemic world.

This lecture was developed at the invitation of Bik van der Pol for their Summer School at Hospitalfield, themed around ‘Making Mute’.
