Talbot Rice Gallery is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary art galleries. As part of the University of Edinburgh, it creates exhibitions across its distinct contemporary and historical spaces.  Working with national, international and emerging artists, leading academics and students, it is a place for creativity and learning, providing unique professional development opportunities.

Volunteer Exhibition Assistants

We look for volunteers to get involved in every exhibition at the Gallery as Volunteer Exhibition Assistants. Our team of volunteers are crucial in the success of our exhibitions and provide essential and valued support.

All volunteers receive training for their role and a high level of support from the Gallery team throughout their time volunteering with us. We offer practical experience of working in a contemporary gallery space, public engagement and the opportunity to meet artists.

Current Opportunities

We're currently recruiting for our next exhibition 'The Extended Mind'. Please download an application form and equal opportunities form to apply.

We look for our volunteers to commit to one regular day per week for the length of an exhibition.

If you would be interested in volunteering with us, please complete the volunteer application form and equal opportunities monitoring form and return it to Charis de Kock – charis.dekock@ed.ac.uk

Please note you will be asked for interview on receipt of a successful application.

Volunteers must be 18 years or over. For any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch before submitting your application.
