Talbot Rice Gallery is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary art galleries. As part of the University of Edinburgh, it creates exhibitions across its distinct contemporary and historical spaces. Working with national, international and emerging artists, leading academics and students, it is a place for creativity and learning, providing unique professional development opportunities.
We look for volunteers to get involved in every exhibition at the Gallery as Volunteer Exhibition Assistants. Our team of volunteers are crucial in the success of our exhibitions and provide essential and valued support.
All volunteers receive training for their role and a high level of support from the Gallery team throughout their time volunteering with us. We offer practical experience of working in a contemporary gallery space, public engagement and the opportunity to meet artists. Volunteers are asked to commit to one regular day per week from 9.30am-5pm and must be 18 years or over.
Volunteering opportunities for our current exhibition, The Normal, are now closed.
We will soon resume looking for volunteers for our next exhibition, Angelica Mesiti, which will run from 1 Oct – 27 Nov.
If you are interested in volunteering for those dates, please complete the volunteer application form and equal opportunities monitoring form and return it by Thursday 2 September 2021 to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note you may be asked to attend a short interview via Zoom on receipt of a successful application.
For any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch before submitting your application.
