Matt Zurowski’s work is driven by an interest in the porous relationship between sound, matter, history and environment. Zurowski fragments and dislocates ancient and contemporary understandings of space, place and nature, using this process as a method to explore alternatives to our present ecological condition. By engaging with existing ecosystems and synthesizing new ecologies, he seeks novel methods of communicating with, performing and understanding the land, its histories and its native organic materials.
