Join artist Tonya McMullan for this special online social event, with an opportunity to taste local honeys, learn about pollinators and reflect on the ecology of Edinburgh.

Honey samples will be provided to those who sign up and the artist will guide participants in how to taste their rich, complex flavours.

The Lure of Tomorrow’s Harvests in The Normal is built around honey collected from Edinburgh and the Lothians during the 2020 lockdown. Made through collaboration with local beekeepers, beekeeping associations and scientists from the Roslin Institute, it reflects on the possibility of bees’ behaviour reflecting the impact of lockdown.

For more information please see The Normal catalogue, available online here.

  • Please note: Places are very limited and we will take people on a first come first serve basis. After booking, all participants are required to pick up a selection of honey samples from Talbot Rice Gallery’s front desk, available from 3 - 14 August.
